Chapter One: Introduction

1.1 Background of the Study
Event decor and design are essential elements in creating memorable experiences, and local artisans play a pivotal role in adding unique, culturally rich aesthetics to events. In Ilorin South LGA, Kwara State, local artisans provide creative and cost-effective solutions for event decor, leveraging their traditional craftsmanship and innovative skills. Their contributions not only enhance the visual appeal of events but also support the local economy and preserve cultural heritage. However, their full potential is often underutilized due to limited access to modern tools, inadequate recognition, and challenges in integrating their work with contemporary event designs.
